Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"A beautiful cafe with all the green plants. Cozy atmosphere with lovely staff. Food was even more beautiful. The portion was a bit small but tasty. The staff was nice and working hard, but I assume they also have short staff. We have waited for a long time to have dinner. It's still worth to try and hope they have enough staffs."
"Enjoyed a delicious coffee & slice. Lovely smiley taller young lady that served us, we noticed you. However the darker haired lady could adopt that smile more!"
"I was visiting NZ from Sydney. Took my 90 yr old dad with my daughter and sister for snacks and drinks. The chips and pizza was nice. I ordered Rose^ wine but was dissapointed as it wasnt chilled. I like my Rose^ chilled with glass appearing frosted. I would say it was cool. Ot was a very hot day. The outside garden sitting was a bit crowded so we sat inside. The staff were friendly however were not sure if there was wifi. I was lucky I saw signage for wifi password hooray."
"Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Very impressed. Steak was cooked to perfection. Side options are delicious. Generous portions."
"Fika has a generous selection of meals and snacks available in their cabinet and on display. The coffee is hot and delicious. Members of staff are friendly and the setting is light and airy. Well worth a visit."
"The new dinner menu at Fika Bar is simpler, featuring a selection of small plates, pizzas, burgers, and salads. Still, the food remains both affordable and high-quality. We tried several entrees, including the garlic and cheese bread, which melted in our mouths, the grilled vegetables, calamari, beef skewers, shrimp cocktail, and the standout dish—the chicken liver pāté. For the main, we opted for the mushroom pizza. I found it overly cheesy, which unfortunately masked the flavours of caramelized onion and chilli honey. A bit more balance would have elevated the dish."
"After two absolute fails, visiting local cafes looking for a good coffee, accidentally stumbled in here - Google Maps seemed to have overlooked this secret hideaway- finally great service, great atmosphere and importantly, yum Allpress Coffee - fab looking counter food - wanted to indulge in those Custard Squares!!"
"What a wonderful discovery Fika is. We have recently moved from the Mount to Matua and have discovered this fabulous cafe in Cherrywood. We made a booking for 9am and our table was ready and waiting for us. The food and service were exceptional. We all ordered the eggs Benedict, one with Salmon and 3 with bacon. Delicious Salmon on a muffin base. The bacon and egg Benedict was also served on muffin or you could swap that out for toast if you wish. The coffee was great and it all came out in a timely manner. The cafe slices and treats on the counter looked amazing and we will definitely be back to sample those. Would recommend booking if you had a large group but there is also plenty of tables for the casual walk ins."
